Smart TV WiFi Issues and Fixes
Weak WiFi signal on Smart TV
Smart TVs have weaker WiFi receivers than phones. Move your router closer. Use 5GHz band if available. Remove obstacles between router and TV.
TV keeps disconnecting from WiFi
Restart your router and TV. Forget the WiFi network and reconnect. Check for TV firmware updates. Try a static IP for your TV in router settings.
Slow WiFi on Smart TV
If speed tests show slower speeds on your TV than other devices, the TV's WiFi chip may be limited. Use Ethernet if possible, or add a WiFi extender near the TV.
Best solution: Ethernet
If your TV has an Ethernet port, use it. Wired is always more stable and faster than WiFi for streaming. If no Ethernet port, use a powerline adapter.
WiFi extender vs mesh
A WiFi extender placed between your router and TV can boost signal. A mesh WiFi system is better for whole-home coverage. Mesh is more expensive but more reliable.
