Smart TV Audio Setup for Streaming
Audio output settings
Most Smart TVs let you choose audio output format. Settings > Sound > Audio Output. Common options: PCM, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Auto.
PCM vs Dolby Digital
PCM is the safest choice for streaming — it works with all content and all TVs. Dolby Digital can cause no-sound issues on some TVs and apps. If you have no sound, switch to PCM.
Soundbar setup for streaming
Connect your soundbar via HDMI ARC or optical. Set TV audio output to PCM if the soundbar does not support Dolby Digital. Test with a channel that has known good audio.
No sound fixes
Switch to PCM audio output. Check if other channels have sound — the issue may be channel-specific. Restart the TV. Check HDMI connections if using external devices.
Audio delay
If audio is out of sync with video, check for a lip-sync or audio delay setting in your TV or soundbar. Some apps have their own audio sync adjustment.
